Visual Inspection & Sampling of Transformers
$300.00
Credits: .3 CEU/ 3 NETA CTD/ 3 PDH
Duration: 3h
The Visual Inspection & Sampling of Transformers Learning Plan consists of six modules that cover the proper and safe procedures needed to obtain a representative sample of dielectric fluids. Topics include: Safety in a Substation & PPE; Special Care Transformers; Transformer Parts & Visual Inspections; Gauges, Nameplates, & Field Copy Reports; Sampling Containers & Proper Sampling Techniques; and Applying a Nitrogen Blanket.
Obtaining a good representative sample is an imperative first step to the health and reliability of your transformer. This Learning Plan provides the knowledge needed to pull a proper sample to assure accurate test results.
Each module runs approximately 30 minutes and earns 0.05 CEU/.5 NETA CTD/.5 PDH for a Learning Plan total of .3 CEU/ 3 NETA CTD/ 3 PDH
Individual Courses are $49 / Discount applied when purchasing the complete Learning Plan.
Number of courses: 6
Included Courses
Safety in a Substation & PPE is the first of a 6 part series in the Visual Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. Safety is an essential part of working in and around substations and switchyards. Unsafe practices may result in accidents, injuries, and equipment damage.
Special Care Transformers is the second of a 6 part series in the Visual Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. These are the transformers that are the most dangerous to sample while energized. This module focuses on what to look out for when handling these types of transformers.
Transformer Parts & Visual Inspection is the third of a 6 part series in the Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. A detailed visual inspection of the transformer and its components is essential for the reliable operation of said asset. This module will cover this detailed inspection.
Gauges, Nameplates & Field Copy Reports is the fourth of a 6 part series in the Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. This Module will cover these components which provide us with valuable information about the condition and design expectations of transformers.
Sampling Containers and Proper Sampling Techniques is the fifth of a 6 part series in the Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. This module is the core of this six-module course. It focuses on the most critical step of any oil maintenance strategy.
Applying a Nitrogen Blanket is the sixth of a 6 part series in the Inspection & Sampling of Transformer Course. When transformers are under vacuum, it’s necessary to apply a nitrogen blanket to bring back this unit to positive pressure and allow us to sample the transformer safely. This Module will cover this important process.
